The One Month Challenge

Today, the first day of November, I am starting the One Month challenge. The challenge is to write 50 000 words by the end of the month. This equals approximately 5.5 pages a day, and I don't know if I can do it...
But that's the challenge, right? :)

Today...

Today, I decided I will try to post every day, with at least one amusing/amazing/weird/wonderful/annoying/strange/unique thing that happened in my day.

I'll start with Today.

Today, I am sitting by my computer, and when I turn to the right and stare out the cold window, past the puddles, the treetops, and the trickling perspiration on the frosty glass, I can see the most beautiful, foggy sunrise over the horizon.
It's stunning, and, though it hurts my eyes, I can't stop looking.

I'm rambling.
But seriously, GO MAKE AN ACCOUNT RIGHT NOW, if you like writing.
And then tell me your user name so I can go vote for yah ;)
Mine is 'Kaleda.' Heh. Obviously xD
So... GO, my little muffins! Go make an account! Shoo, shoo!

Poetically, My New Blog.

Hi guys :)
So, I was thinking since this blog isn't very deep or moving, I should do another blog.
On this one I can go on about my day, and my friends, and interesting things that happen in my life. But on the other blog I can be more artistic and deep.

Xoxo,
Kaleda.

Hello :) It's Been a While.

Hi!

It's my last day of summer.

AND IT'S RAINING!! :(

Not that I had any big plans for today, anyway, but STILL.
Way to end the summer...
*Frowns*

Though...

Rain can be beautiful.
If you think about it.
Especially when it makes rainbows.
Those are amazing.
Maybe there will be one tomorrow, when I start school.
So I guess it's not so bad that it's raining.
But it still kind of sucks.

It's all... gloomy.

I normally like the rain, when the glistening drops are pouring down hard and making that comforting pitter-patter sound, and I'm thankful for my safe, dry house. But today it's not pouring down, just drizzling, and everything is gray and wet.

Yuck.

Eh, oh well.

I'm not going to let that kill my mood :)
I'm actually... EXCITED!! :D
For school, that is.
Not the homework, obviously.
But I'm excited to just, see everyone again!

Who's gotten their braces off?
Who's gained weight?
Who's dyed their hair?
Who's got a new piercing?
What's everyone wearing?
That? Eeeww.

So I guess I don't really mind that it's my last day of summer, or that it's raining.
Because school's tomorrow, and that always excites me :)

I know everyone denies that they're excited to start school. They're like, "Ew. Why can't summer go on longer? Wah, wah."
But I bet everyone secretly is.

Anyway,
I'm going on about this BECAUSE
for the first week of school I may not have time to blog.
And then on the weekend I have plans.
Maybe Sunday I can post, though...

But my birthday's coming up :)
September 20th.
Yay!

<:)~

So, lots of exciting things are coming up for me.
May not blog for a bit.
But I'll be sure to comment on all YOUR awesome blogs!!

TTYL!

*Ack.*

Hello :)
Ugh, I was on the computer a few seconds ago, trying to upload the pics from my photography camp when it suddenly froze. And I kept trying to exit and control, alt, delete but it wouldn't work, and the computer is MESSED. :(
And the pictures aren't on this computer (my laptop that I'm on) so I can't upload them now.
Maybe tomorrow?
Is that ok?? :(
Sorry. I keep delaying, but it wasn't my fault this time! D:
Anyway, I'll tell you about my Hawaii trip instead.
I was at The Big Island, staying at the Mauna Lani (spelling??) resort.

So, exciting things that I did:
-I attempted to surf.
-I saw these adorable wild cats.
-That's about it xD

There isn't much exciting that happened, really--I mostly spent the time sitting by the pool or beach on those chair-things and reading :) I finished reading these books as I was on vacation (in this order):
-Fake Boyfriend by Kate Brian (on the plane ride there).
-Airhead by Meg Cabot.
-My Little Phony by Lisi Harrison.
-Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella (BEST BOOK, LIKE, EVER!!!!!!! Sophie Kinsella is an amazing author.)
-Boy Meets Girl by Meg Cabot (on the plane ride back--I really liked this book & couldn't put it down!)

I'm also about half way through I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter, and Pretty Little Liars #2 -Flawless-, by (OH CRAP I'M SPACING ON THE AUTHOR'S NAME RIGHT NOW. *Smacks head*)

Haha, but anyway, it was really fun :D
I tanned a bit.
And other things I did besides read were,
-Drink coffee in the morning with my mom :) (with four or five packs of sugar added :P)
-Eat breakfast: we brought a toaster (we are so high-maintenance xD) and ate bagels for breakfast. (We also brought peanut butter & jam.)
-Go to dinner in the evening with my mom (we went to a different place each day)
-For desert, go to the Marble Slab (AWESOME icecream shop!!)
-Have always the same lunch (quesadillas, fruit medley smoothie, and fries w/ ketchup.)

And I swam in the pool a lot too :D

So there ya go, my vacation.

SHOUT OUT to Abby--HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! <:)
My friend Alexis's birthday is also on the 22nd of August :) I just came back from her birthday actually, haha so if there are a bunch of typos in this blog post it's cause I'm dead tired....
Anyway, party hat & noisemaker
<:)~

IN HAWAII!! :)
I'm in The Big Island, in Hawaii, with my mom, and it's awesome! :)
I'm having so much fun.
There isn't much time to go on the computer, so I won't be posting until I get back, which is on Sunday August 22.
On the 23rd I'll probably have time to post, and I'll tell u about my vacation and post pictures from that photography camp I told you about.
Luv you all,
-Kayla

What Booster Juices, Crazy Friends, and a Whole Lotta Dancing Can Cause.

We only went out for a booster juice.
Alexis (the crazy one), Kieran (the crazier one), and me.
We got there, and we:
-took pictures with the life-sized booster juice thing-y
-ordered pina coladas, strawberry sunshines, and some random pomegranite thing :)
-found out that there was a concert going on, right outside.

So we went, obviously :)
And... well, I mentioned my friends were crazy, right?
But we'll get to that later.
First, we went into this shop with a whole bunch of gadgets including:
-Bra Carriers.
-This disgusting perfume that I screamed "EW!" when I smelled but then tried to lamely cover up by saying "I mean, mmmm."
-Beach balls
-Those little magnets with hilarious messages on them like, "Hangovers are the wrath of grapes."
-Twenty dollar (EACH!) little tacky glass beads. I know.

We as well discovered those little "Say and Play" thing-y-ma-jigz. xD
You know? You record a message and you play it back?
You could record things, to test the greatness of the toy.
As per my idea, we programmed them all to say "JUST BUY THE TOY." In an angry voice >:)
Hee hee. I thought that was quite hilarious at the time.

We chatted w/ the store owner, and tried to sell the overpriced beads. To these other girls in the shop I said, "I reccomend the twenty dollar beads."
They didn't respond.
"They'll really IMPRESS THE BOYS!!!!" my friend Alexis screamed.
We fell to the floor laughing, and those poor girls didn't say anything back. Because what do you say to that?

But THEN.
The concert.
It started, and we were HYPED.
Kieran suggested we dance, wildly, in front of everyone.
So we did.
We got up and danced in the front, in front of EVERYBODY, which normally would be mortifying but with my friends I just felt pumped. We flipped our hair and did all these cheesy moves like the "disco," because we are just that rad. :P
And we danced around and sang along to the songs we knew and made a train on the song Chain. x]
So this woman comes up to us, these wacky, crazy people dancing all around with all eyes watching, and asks for our picture.
So we strike this funky pose and she takes our picture, except it blurs, but she doesn't notice so she says THANKS! and walks away.

Later though, as we were sitting down, chilling after our dancy funky-ness, she asked to take another picture of us.
So we just smiled semi-normally, and Alexis did a peace sign behind my head (gee, THANKS) and she took our picture.
It turned out well, I assume.
Because she said,

"Look for your picture in the news."

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!
We started screaming, like literally, SCREAMING.
It was AMAZING!
I've only been in the news once before, and to me it's a HUGE deal x)

*Shrugs*

We only really wanted a booster juice.

My New Untitled Book

Hey :)
I posted the first chapter of my new untitled story.
Unfortunately, it wouldn't let me upload a picture (can anyone tell me how to upload pics to those static pages?). So I'll post it here.
This would be the cover of the book, if it were published:

Like it?

As I said in the page, the characters are:

There's Jeanette, the tough, sporty girl who likes sarcasm and making fun of weak people.
Then there's her best friend Casey, who's extremely DESPERATE for a boyfriend and is a total drama queen about it and everything else.
The boys in the story are Sebastian, Xavier, and Alex. Sebastian and Xavier are total nerds, but the difference between them is that Sebastian *likes* being a nerd but Xavier strives to be cool. He's also desperate for a girlfriend.
Alex, on the other hand, is super cool and rules the school. (That rhymes :P)
And he has a dumb but very attractive girlfriend named Annika--who's basically just a bitch.

And it goes from there :)

I have way more chapters to post--tell me if you want me to post more :D
Thnx
-K.

I Like Summer :)

Hey guys :)
I haven't posted in a while, because I've been very busy. I'm in this volleyball day-camp thing, and omg it's *exhausting.* But really fun :)
From 1:30-4:30 it's like nonstop playing volleyball except short water breaks. And for once it's super sunny out = tres hot.
*Dramatically faints.*

But I have been writing a bit!
My friend Kieran and I are working on a new novel, "Independent." That's the title. It's about this teenaged girl and all her loved ones died so she's all alone :( So she runs away, because she really doesn't want to live in an orphanage, and so she manages in the woods on her own.
As well, she saves a little girl from getting run over by a train; fights for food and water; and meets this rich boy who she saves from a pack of wolves.
Impressive, right? :P
We're on page 20 right now, but we're hanging out on Friday so I'm hoping maybe we'll get up to 30? :D *Crosses fingers.*

I'm also editing this book I wrote a while ago. I just kind of abandoned it for a while.
Sometimes I get bored of a certain book and need a break from it. So this book I was working on, I was on page 100 or 130 or something, and I just had to write like *FIVE MORE PAGES* and it would be completely done. And then I could say I finished another novel! :)
But for some reason I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. So for, like, a month I totally abandoned it and suddenly I'm like "KAYLA. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU. GO FINISH IT!"
So I did :D
And now I'm editing it, which is a very long and hard process. D:
I really want to send it in to a publisher soon though!
Maybe in the winter I'll be done. Who knows.

So besides editing THAT book, and working on Independent, I'm also working on three other books.
A Summer to Remember (See at top of blog), Life Flashes Before Your Eyes, and this new kind of untitled one about these different people's instant message conversations.
So there you go--that's what I've been up to :)
But don't worry, I still obsessively check all your blogs to see if you've posted something new! :P
I just hadn't had it in me to do a whole blog post for a while.

Anyway, I better go eat breakfast.
TTYL!!

A Few Pics

It's amazing where a book can take you... To heaven; to hell; underwater; or just a normal day on earth. Books can take you where no other form of entertainment can--and the best part? It's all in your mind, so you can imagine it the way you want to. That's why I love writing. I love reading, too--I love everything to do with words, and description, and thinking deeply... How can you not?

With the right angle; the right lighting; the right camera; the right setting; the right time... you can make anything, even a simple purple converse shoe, look like the most beautiful thing you've ever seen.

Animals are amazing, the way they bring happiness to humans like nothing else can...

Couldn't say it any better myself.

Oh, and one more thing...

:D
I love the world.

You Know What?

I'm not liking this whole schedule thing.
I want to post when *I* want to,
And not be all restricted by three certain, par-tic-ular days.
So that's what I'm going to do.
I might post once a week, or twice.
Or maybe seven times if I feel like it.
Sometimes I'm too busy, and sometimes I have nothing to do.
So I guess we'll see,
And it'll be a surprise when I post next!
Yeah, I think this works out better for me.

.

My week went well this week.
It's so damn HOT OUTSIDE... I've been drinking lotsa water :)
It was my friend Kieran's birthday this week, on July 14th... SHOUT OUT TO HER! HBD!! :D
I had so many sleepovers with her this week (too many to count!) and we swam in my pool a lot. We went to playland also :] !
My niece Jenna was over one day, and we babysat her :)
She sang happy birthday to Kieran, in her cute little voice. x:) it was adorable!! :)
All 2-and-3-year-olds are just the cutest things ever, aren't they?
So yeah,
That was my week. Hanging out with Kieran :D
Now I'm sorry, but I stayed up until 2 last night at her birthday party and woke up at 8, so I'm going to lie down and watch TV and possibly sleep now.
Nighty-night!

http://girlzlurv2write.blogspot.com/

2. Kieran (my real-life friend! who is sitting right beside me! :))
http://aqualeau.blogspot.com/

7. Claire (even though you don't post anymore...)
http://clarissa-kaulitz-opendiary.blogspot.com/

8. Ngozi (MY FIRST FOLLOWER WHO I DIDN'T KNOW IN REAL LIFE! woot!)
http://theenviednotenviers.wordpress.com/

9. Aires band! (Okay… I meant the OTHER members of the band BESIDES me. For their amazing blog!)
http://theairesband.blogspot.com/

I know I’m lame, but I couldn’t come up with ten people.
How sad is that? :( :P

Well anyway, I know some of them won’t even read this but those who do, I hope you pass it on! :D

Now, writing time.
Here’s a poem, because I’m not too good with writing short stories.
They’re pretty hard for me—it’s novel or nothing.
So I find poems much, much easier to make.
Okay, here goes.

It’s about love.

What is love?

“Love” is such a simple word.
We can express the hundreds,
Thousands,
Of emotions running through our veins by a simple little,
“Love.”

“I love you,” can mean thousands of things.
“I love you… please don’t be mad at me!”
“I love you… you’re my boyfriend, and I don’t really, but I’m young and naieve.”
“I love you… so much right now, random acquaintance, who I don’t really love but want to make happy by saying it.”
What does it really mean,
“I love you”?

And do you love your best friends,
The same way you love your husband?
Do you love your parents,
Like you love your daughter?
That burning passion and need to protect people from anything, even if it risks your life, even if you’ll be caused the upmost pain but as long as they’re okay it doesn’t really matter to you… is this love?
So… do you really love your best friends?

Sometimes I wonder,
Not if it exists—you see it everywhere.
Not if it is real—you know it’s there.
Not if it’s stupid—how could it be?
Not if I’ve felt it—because who hasn’t, really.
But sometimes I wonder, why hate?
Why not just love?
Why can wars, and killing, and stealing, and criminal acts
Still go on, still continue, through the unbreakable emotion of love?
Sometimes I wonder…
I wonder how strong it is, and how much it can exist.

And I suppose that’s because those criminals have never… never really felt love before.
Maybe that’s all we need—somebody to love.
And care about.
And risk our lives for.
And protect.
And laugh with.
And cry with.
And be with for as long as we live.
And I suppose some people don’t have any of this.

I don’t know… I don’t know where I’m going with this.
I just don’t know the answers.
What is love?
And why doesn’t everyone have it?
And why has this amazing concept of all these emotions
Become twisted into some superficial thing that people casually say to each other?
I don’t know.

Does anyone?
What is love?

Okay… that was confusing. I kind of just poured everything on my mind into my computer, without really editing.
And you can’t really call it a poem.
Just because the first line matches with the last line of each verse,
Does not make it a poem.
It’s more of a… a messy string of thoughts casually tied together.

I’ll write a more proper poem now.

It’s about leaves.

DON’T ROLL YOUR EYES BEFORE YOU READ IT.

Okay.

Leaves are shallow forms of life,
They don’t really feel, or think.
But, neither do humans, sometimes,
Sometimes we just go along with things.

Leaves float along, with the flow
Wherever the wind might take them.
They don’t stop to consider, “Do I really want to go?”
Or if they have choices, or freedom.

They follow along, wherever
All the other leaves go.
But people, we don’t do that whatsoever…
Wait… do we? Do you? I don’t know.

Leaves venture off their trees,
Like humans do their homes.
They change their colour, frequently,
Like humans as they grow.

So much we are the same,
As these obedient little leaves,
“Go with the flow,” people say
But do you really agree?

If that was confusing, the point was that leaves go with the flow, and so do humans, but we shouldn’t. We should be independent. Strong. Not like those tiny, brainless leaves.
I’ve mentioned I hate followers of the “cool group.”
That’s kind of what this is about.

I vow to try and never do something just because
Everyone else is.

Okay, that’s good for today I think :)
Au revoir, mes amies!
(Yeah… I suck at French sometimes. But for some reason I really like speaking it.)

-KK.

My Gleeful Week

Oh, what a week it was this week!
Monday through Friday, I was in a Glee Camp (you know? the show? glee?) for SIX HOURS EACH DAY, singing and dancing. It was at Douglas College, and I was in it with my friend Kieran.
*Dramatic pose.*
The whole week, the class (of 13 people) prepared for a final performance, with singing and dancing and even some acrobatics too :)
We performed today, and let me just say we did
AWWWWESOME. :D
It was amazing, and loads of fun.
Our setlist,
or,
Glist:
1. Bad Romance (I had a duet with Kieran in this!)
2. Jessie's Girl (So fun... being all girly and dancy.)
3. Defying Gravity (Wasn't in this... I find the song cheesy and slightly annoying... but the people who did perform it were amazing!)
4. Hey Soul Sister (Had a lil solo in this!)
5. Carry On My Wayward Son (Had a huge dance routine in this, with a small group of 4 other people)
6. Lean On Me (The door to get to the stage locked when you closed it, and someone let it swing closed when they walked off, so I was locked in AND I HAD A HUGE SOLO!!! >:( After me and my friends did a few polite knocks, I gave up and banged on the door as loud as I could, and screamed, "LET US OUT! WE'RE LOCKED IN!" Everyone on stage heard me... but hey ;) it worked. Oh, and I did my solo and it went well :))
7. Billie Jean (Dancing in this.)
8. Don't Stop Believing (Woot! End song. Awesome. Dramatic. Amazing. I had an acrobatic little thingymajig with Kieran and another girl, Elisse. I did the splits at the end, or attempted to, because I couldn't QUITE get it... Anyway. A great ending to a fun show!)

So there you have it :)
My week of practicing.
I made tons of new friends in the camp, which reminds me... I better go add some people on facebook!
TTYS!

Nonfiction, For Once

"I seriously have to post on my blog..."
"Why?" she demands, holding in a laugh at my obsessiveness.
"Be-CAUSE. I have to. I already missed a day and I can't again." I roll my eyes, frustrated that she can't just read my mind and know why this is important.
Alexis sighs.
"Fine."
"Yay!" I squeal and hurry up the stairs, and sit down on the little red plastic chair facing a sleek silver macbook pro. I smile.
Then frown.
"...Wait, what should I write ABOUT?" I ask her, pissed off that I lost my good idea I had two hours ago. I had this whole thing planned... so easily forgotton.
"I don't know! How bout... how hot it is today?" Alexis sits on her bed, exhausted.
"Eh."
"How about this lil green cup?" She holds up a smiling mug with some sort of bandanna thingy over its eyes.
"Uh, no thanks."
"Why do you have to write, anyway?"
"Uh, BECAUSE IT'S WRITING WEDNESDAY!" I exclaim, like DUH.
She literally *collapses* on the bed, laughing.
"Writing Wednesday?" Alexis sputters between giggles. "How *corny*!"
I roll my eyes, because I KNOW it's corny and so what?
I like corny.
"You could have done so many more NORMAL things!" she informs me (thanks...) "like Wacky Wednesday!"
I huff.
"Still not helping."
I tell her to shhh, I'm writing, and that I'll be done soon.
So I wrote a little nonfiction, which I never, ever do :)
Unless it's for school, or something.

P.S., BOOK RECOMENDATION! Wings by... I think her name is Arianna Pike? I'm not completely positive. Something Pike. For sure Pike.
It's good, and I know it sounds kinda stupid like fairies and all but my friend Kieran reccomended it to me and I actually really like it :) which surprised me.
Not what I usually read, that's for sure.
Anyway, g2g. I've ignored Alexis long enough.
TTYF,
-Kay.

Swimming!

Firstly and foremost, I apologize about not posting on friday. It was my half-sister's birthday and I was just too bizzay. :(
But hey, I swear, it won't happen again.
Which is why I'm posting now :)
And today, I'll tell you about my lil swimming trip.

A light-hearted post, after my last Deep Confusingness.
So here we go.

So me and my bestus bud Kieran (follow her blog at http://aqualeau.blogspot.com/ ... she loves water ;P) went SWIMMING, of course, because as I just said, she luhhh-vs water.
Kieran's awesome :) We always have fun when we hang out. In fact, I'm at her house hogging her computer right now.

;)

So swimming. We went to the west van pool (cuz it's warm... like a bath!) and began swimming.
Quickly, I became addicted to the twisty slide.
:3
So I kept wanting to go on it, and then I said, "OKAY, I SWEAR. JUST ONE MORE TIME." Kieran sighed. "No!!!" she laughed. So we agreed she'd wait at the bottom for me, and I'd go down.
So I climb the stairs, and I'm at the top, right?
Right.
And she's at the bottom.
And conveiniently (spelling... I know) there was a clear wall at the top so I could see her. So I look down, and she's looking up at me from the pool. And of course, because she's Kieran, she starts making faces.
;P
XD
:O
>_<
And I, because I'm Kayla, start to laugh uncontrollably, and make faces back.
And this poor man is standing out of the pool, directly in front of Kieran, and that poor soul thinks I'm making faces at HIM.
So I make a point of looking OVER and BEHIND him as I make the faces.
He looks to the left. He still doesn't see who I'm making faces to.
He looks to the right. Still nobody.
LOOK BEHIND YOU, YOU IDIOT!
:)
So now Kieran is sticking her butt out of the water, and JUST AS THE MAN FINALLY FIGURES IT OUT AND LOOKS BEHIND HIM,
he sees Kieran now
SLAPPING HER BUTT
... AT HIM.
And I can see the look in his eyes--he's FREAKING out.
I laugh so hard I can't breathe.
Kieran is oblivious and thinks I'm laughing at her funny joke.
Later, as I explain to her, she starts laughing very hard as well and insists I post it on my blog.
So I do ;)

See?

Ahhh that was fun.
And there you go--your Funny Story of the Day.

TTYL--gotta give Kieran her computer back.
Follow her blog, people!!

Xoxo,
-KK.

I Just Have this One, Nagging Question... Can You Answer It for Me?

One day I just wondered
What started it all?
The very first tree, in the very first world, in the very first universe…
When?
How?

I thought of people, and how they originated
Why did it happen?
Was one cell just magically made, out of nothing, somewhere, somehow, unknown…
When?
How?

I’m not religious, so I don’t take the easy answer of “God created life”
I seriously wonder: how did I get here?
Maybe it was all just an accident; not supposed to happen; not because of any reason whatsoever…
When?
How?

“There must be an explanation for everything,” says my school teacher
But there isn’t, is there?
You can’t explain why the rain falls or how everything started… You can’t explain how everything will end
Why not?
I want to know.

I just want to understand…
Who can I ask?

Like this crazy, inflowing, messy poem,
life confuses me.

P.S., I finally figured out how to enable comments on "A Summer Story" !! :) Feel free to comment, now :]

Things That Occured

Well, my week so far went good, I'd say.
Pretty good.
Pros:
-It's summer = no work!
-I hung out with my friends and family a lot this week.
-It's been so sunny and nice out.
-It was just a generally awesome week :)

Cons:
-I have bronchitis.
-My mom's in China!
-My friend Claire is leaving soon, so I always feel like this might be the last time I see her.
-IT'S TOO HOT OUT... *pant, pant.*

I discovered this thing (okay, my friend showed it to me) called CleverBot.
It's hilarious to make conversation with it xP

I watched a Bachelorette Spoiler... Oooh, gunna be a very delicious episode Monday!!! Huge confrontation is going to happen :D

I've been searching for this certain picture that I saw on Talia's blog, http://girlzlurv2write.blogspot.com/ , and it's like this list of numbers and each one says to look at another number, for example.
1. look at number two!
2. look at number eight!
etc. AND I CAN NOT FIND IT ANYWHERE ON WEHEARTIT!! Ugh.
I want it because at the end it says something really nice and I want to send it to my mom who's in China :) <3
Talia, if you read this, could you please send me the link to it or something, or tell me which page of Weheartit it's on? If it's even on Weheartit... I don't know. Just making assumptions.
Pretty please and thank you! :)

I made iced coffee this morning.

I woke up at six twenty-ish this morning due to a ton of sun coming through my window, which was a really nice way to wake up.

This week, I hung out with my lovely friend Kieran, who has a blog which you can see from this link: http://aqualeau.blogspot.com/
It's hilarious and really fun! :)

I also hung out with Claire, Oksana, Justine, Alexis, Cherry, and Selina. :) It was fun!
They either don't have a blog or never post on their blogs.

My niece and nephew both did some really adorable things this week.
Niece = Jenna. 2 years old.
Nephew = Cole. 3 years old.

Cute Thing that Cole Did:
Cole, my half-sister (his mom), and I were walking to the park, but it had been torn down by a "mean, bad" bulldozer so we were walking back. There was this red sign in front of an outside restaurant that said "No Hard Alcohol Beyond This Point!". Cole asked what it said. We told him.
He asked why.
We tried to explain.
Then he wondered,
"...Can I have some hard alcohol?" in this adorably cute voice :) I was laughing a lot, and in my head going AWW!
We told him no, he could not have some hard alcohol.

Cute Thing that Jenna Did:
Jenna and Cole were really bonding this one day. They were causing a ton of mischief by tipping over small chairs and laughing really hard, refusing to eat their dinner, running all around in circles gleefully, and such.
So they went upstairs in Jenna's room to play, and they wanted to jump on her little crib. So they started jumping and giggling while I supervised that they didn't hurt themselves, and then eventually they got worn out, of course.
They wanted to pretend to go to sleep, so after a bit of arguing over which blankets they had, they settled down. Just pretending, though, that it was bed time.
Cole said, "Good night!" and then pretended to sleep.
Jenna sighed. "It's been a long day," she said.
She pretended to sleep too.
I found that extremely adorable, as if she was an adult hard at work the whole day, finally getting a rest! Again, I thought AWW!
She probably picked it up from some adults.

They're both so cute :)

So my week was fairly good, besides the bronchitis.
Hope everyone else's week was amazing!!!
-Kayla.

Old Stuff

Hey girls! :)
Today I decided I would leaf through a few of my old, old, old Microsoft Word documents, and post some things that I think are funny/nostalgic/amazing. So here we go.
*Searching…*
Okay. I found a bunch of old poems and tiny stories from a couple years ago, back in 2008. It was when my Grade 6 teacher (I think?) enrolled me in this “Gifted Young Writers” workshop—ugh, I just hate when people say the word “Gifted”… it’s so cliché and completely exaggerating… Come on, we’re kids, you can not tell how “Gifted” or “Un-Gifted” we are. Anyway, they told us to post all these poems on Wikipedia or something, and short stories, so here are some of my poems:
I found this one that was really sad, about a little baby cat.
Here it is:

-Forever and ever-

I looked down at the new born cat
Hairless, eyes shut, lying on the mat
A part of me said "That's really gross!"
But another part said "I love her the most."

This cat was small, and meek, and cute
She was different, and shy, and right now, mute
She could not meow, or move around
It seemed like she was glued to the ground

However, in spite of those things
I loved her still and thats what it means
To love at first sight no matter how tall
Or skinny or fat or big or small

She was the best thing that happened that day
She was different and special in her own way
I looked after her, cared for her, fed her still
I loved her now and always will

This cat has shown something to me
Just 'cause you're different, can't hear, or can't see
It doesn't mean that you can not live
Or care, or share, or love, or give.

(Pardon the typos… I was young and didn’t really edit my work then.)

I really like the last two lines. Pretty deep, for an eleven year old, eh?
Here’s another one:

-Spring-

Spring is when the flowers bloom
When it's sunny, from morning to noon
Pick an apple and a pear
Sniff the flowers, breath fresh air

Spring is happy, spring is glee
Spring is blooming flowers and trees
Warm and sunny, but sometimes cold
Spring is like a pot of gold

Shiny, shimmery, sparkly and great
Some gentle pink flowers in a vase
Spring, spring, the time to love
The time to care, and look above

See the sky, so blue and fresh
Remember what it's like to rest
Just relax and have a good day
Come on, its spring, here to stay.

Here’s one last one… A haiku.

-Summer-
The warm summer breeze
Blows the leaves on the trees and
Whistles through my hair

Children laugh and play
The have lots of fun all day
In the beach's hot sand

Swimming in the pool
Waiters serving you cold drinks
It's so refreshing

Well, thanks for listening!
This was really fun doing, because as I searched through all my old documents they brought back such clear memories…

Well, I hope you all have a very good day today. As for me, I’m sick with a harsh cough and runny nose, and I have a group of friends coming over this morning at ten o’clock. Hopefully I’ll manage!
Xoxo,
-Kaleda.

Sunday Photos

Today, I have some photos to share with you all.
Here they are…

Why can’t we get up right now, get a big bunch of balloons, and walk wherever we want to and do whatever we want to do? Why are we so confined—glued to our computers and T.Vs like robots. Why can’t we leave, what is that force attaching us… keeping us reading, staring…? Why can’t we be free? What is that, sucking me in…?

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person in the whole world. The feeling only lasts a short while, so there’s no time to miss others. I just feel empowered, like I’m amazing, and perfect in every way… Again, it only lasts a short while. Then I realize the truth, that nobody’s perfect, that maybe I won’t make a change in the world, and maybe I’m just a little girl with a big heart and a very confused mind, who really doesn’t matter.

You know, even though sometimes I feel that way, I know deep inside that I’m wrong. My emotions get twisted and confused, but the truth is, I do matter. You do, too. Everyone does. This little boy running with bread probably has a story to tell, magic he experienced, and love he has that will never die. Everyone’s capable of doing great things, no matter who you are. Everyone matters. Just stop being lazy and go prove it. Stop thinking you’re useless. Stop. You’re not.

Clouds are gorgeous things, aren’t they? So peaceful, floating mindlessly, wherever the wind guides them. Sometimes I feel like a cloud. Powerless, but happy nonetheless. Other times I feel like the wind. Invisible, but with great power. I’m just one of millions, right? Invisible. But I know I can change the world, and I will change the world someday.

I wonder, if you sailed as far as you could, cautiously avoided the waterfalls and whirlpools but took whatever turns you wanted to take… where you’d end up? Is there some place we haven’t discovered yet? Some land with magic—animals that never die and plants that bloom the biggest flowers, you could use them as houses. Is there such a place? Maybe there is. Maybe it’s located in our mind, and nowhere else.

You might find ^ those confusing. I know—I just wrote what was on my mind. And my mind can be quite scattered. Sorry if I don’t make sense. I hope I do. I hope you can understand me…

-Kaleda.

P.S, HAPPY FATHERS DAY! Love you, Dad <3
